Reflection
Introduction
The purpose of my online press room is to inform the public of the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. I want to provide information about the May 4th event as well as basic information about the organization. I will also use this as a place to highlight my work that I have done for the organization.
The publics of my online press room will be parents, families, children, doctors, and researchers. I want to inform these people about this organization because I feel that they will be able to help the most with making it as successful as possible.
I have decided to make my style very user and kid friendly. I went with a fun yellow and blue theme to coincide with the color theme for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. I felt that by using clipart, it was a fun touch to the website. I wanted to make it as presentable as possible so that my target audience would want to visit the site again.
I used Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s main website for my information regarding the organization. I wanted to keep things consistent so I made sure to go through the direct organization. I received the information regarding the background, the funding, the research, the lemonade stands, and more.
The lessons I learned from this assignment are that it takes a lot of work and time to make sure that everything is exactly the way you want the target to perceive it. I learned that it’s important to have a cohesive message and make sure that the core focus is present throughout every platform. I have definitely learned more about AP style and have become more timely on creative assignments. I improved a lot of my work from when I first submitted it. For example, I made 3 different fact sheets and I wasn’t completely satisfied with it until the third one. I realized that in order to make a successful fact sheet, I needed to focus more on the target market. Now that I have way more knowledge on my target audience, I feel that I was more prepared to create it. I found creating the actual online press room really exciting. It was super fun to be able to bring everything together. It was cool to see my vision come to life!
